With a sea of information coming at us from all directions, how do we sift out the misinformation and bogus claims, and get to the truth?
Launceston Skeptics Inc. (the association) is a non-profit organisation, which seeks to promote critical thinking and an understanding of the scientific method. The association aims to:
1. Stimulate discussion of scientific knowledge and other matters of interest, such as human rights and social issues;
2. Encourage citizens and representatives of the news media to adopt a critical attitude to claims, which are not supported by reason or credible scientific evidence; and
3. Conduct and participate in community events, providing information to the public in order to pursue the association’s objectives.
